About

NextGen Construction Group is a family owned roofing and construction company with its office at 6275 W Plano Parkway, Suite 500 in Plano, and it markets itself across the Dallas Fort Worth area. Its BBB file records the LLC as incorporated on 14 November 2024, with cofounders Kevin Orozco and Andrew Montes listed as the managing members. The company's own site describes roof installations and repairs, gutter and drainage systems, skylight and ventilation work, roof inspections and maintenance, and custom projects. The site does not publish shingle brands, warranty terms or a hail claim process, so homeowners should ask for those in writing before signing. NextGen has been a BBB Accredited Business since 24 March 2025 with an A rating, and it appears in IKO's own contractor finder as a listed IKO roofing contractor. Its RCAT status is Member. Plano sits in the North Texas hail belt, so it is worth asking whether a quote is priced with standard shingles or Class 4 impact resistant shingles.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I was referred to NextGen by a friend. I first text Kevin in the late evening hours due to a leak in my roof. I never expected a response that night but he responded within a minute. I was very impressed! He was definitely professional and helpful. The appointment was made and when we met he was very honest about my situation. He helped fix my issue until I can get my roof replaced and he very generously agreed to repair it as a courtesy gesture for my business. I would be happy to recommend NextGen to anyone. They are good people and it’s nice to see people who are honest, knowledgeable and professional. 10/10 Full transparency and trust. They will get your needs met. Thanks Kevin!

I have had several companies stop by after major storms. They were patient with me. Walked me through the process and I gave a new roof and great service. Take a leap of faith and trust them, I did and don’t regret the service and care they took with my home.

Felix and his team were absolutely the best! It’s hard to find honest and trustworthy people to work with but Felix and NextGen Construction are superb! Top notch installation, clean up and communication! Everything happened exactly like he said it would! I am so grateful! We have a beautiful roof! And Felix suggested the color! Beyond impressed!

Frequently asked

Is NextGen Construction Group licensed by the State of Texas?
No roofing contractor is. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so there is no state licence number to check. What you can check instead is insurance, RCAT status, BBB standing and any city registration. NextGen is a BBB Accredited Business with an A rating and is an RCAT Member.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
No. RCAT is the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. A Member is a company that joins and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is earned separately through testing and experience. NextGen is listed as a Member, not as a Licensed Roofing Contractor.
How long has NextGen Construction Group been in business?
The BBB file lists the LLC as incorporated on 14 November 2024, which makes it a young company. The website does not state a founding year. For a newer contractor it is reasonable to ask for addresses of recent Plano or DFW jobs you can drive past, and for proof of general liability and workers compensation coverage.
Does the company work on hail damage claims?
The website lists roof inspections, repairs and replacements but does not publish a storm or insurance claim process. Ask directly whether they will meet your adjuster on site, and get in writing who orders materials and who is responsible if the carrier pays less than the estimate.
What are Class 4 impact resistant shingles and should I buy them in Plano?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test. In Collin County, where hail is the main cause of roof loss, a Class 4 shingle is less likely to bruise in a moderate storm, and most Texas carriers offer a premium discount for one. It costs more up front, so ask for both prices side by side.
Which shingle brands does NextGen install?
The website does not name any shingle manufacturer. The company does appear in IKO's contractor finder, which points to an IKO relationship, but the product you get should be confirmed on the written proposal by brand, product line and impact rating.
Does Plano require a permit for a roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting is set city by city. Plano and most DFW cities do require a roofing permit for a tear off and replacement. Ask who pulls it, and make sure the permit is in the contractor's name rather than yours.
Is the phone number on the website correct?
The site displays (886) 975-NEXT, and 886 is not a valid North American area code, so that appears to be a typo. The BBB profile lists (469) 396-7664 for the same Plano address. Use the BBB number, or confirm by email, if the website number does not connect.
What should I ask for before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the agent, a written scope listing brand, product line, underlayment, ventilation and flashing, the workmanship warranty length in years, the manufacturer warranty being registered, and a clear statement that your deductible will be collected. A contractor offering to absorb your deductible is asking you to commit insurance fraud.
Does this company serve areas outside Plano?
The website describes itself as serving the DFW area rather than naming specific cities. It does not list individual suburbs, so confirm coverage for your address before booking an inspection.
