About

Marchand Roofing & Construction is a locally owned Wichita Falls contractor that has operated in North Texas since 1987. The company works from 3136 South Farm to Market Road 369, also recorded as Arena Road, in Wichita County, and Doug Marchand is named as the founder on the company's own About page. Its tagline is protecting what matters most, and it is open Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm and closed at weekends. The work is broader than roofing alone. The company lists warrantied roof installations, leak repair, general roof maintenance, roof coatings, free no obligation inspections, siding installation, seamless gutter installation fabricated in house, low emissivity doors and windows, full remodels, and construction oversight and management. It describes working with locally owned suppliers and manufacturers, and its emphasis is on residential and commercial roofing plus storm damage restoration. The company describes itself as licensed, bonded and insured. Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so that phrase should not be read as a government credential. No manufacturer certification (GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed) and no BBB profile were found for this company during this research, and no specific roofing material lines are published on the site, so those fields are left blank rather than guessed. Homeowners should confirm current general liability and workers compensation cover directly with the insurer before signing.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Marchand has a fantastic crew of contractors. I needed a roof replacement, at the same time I had him to rebuild my patio cover. His crew went to work and in a couple of days had my patio cover built and roof installed, very quickly and efficiently. Fantastic work, cleaned the work area thoroughly each day before leaving the job site. I highly recommend Marchand.

Showed up when they said they would. Friendly workers and truly skilled in their craft. Hard working. When the work was done we had a new roof and everything was clean, you couldn't even tell they were there. Very appreciative and definitely recommend.

Being fairly new in town, we had to rely on our handyman’s recommendations, and his recommendations and referral based on his experience were true. From first phone call with Doug who came out despite the last minute notice to Brian who had been staying on top of things to ensure job is completed successfully, the entire process had been nothing but pleasant. We were thoroughly impressed by Brian’s competence, effective communication skills and professionalism. Marchand truly is a reliable local company upholding its outstanding reputation. Thank you Marchand!!

Frequently asked

Is Marchand Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
No, because Texas does not issue a state roofing licence. The company describes itself as licensed, bonded and insured, which in Texas refers to local registration and to bonding and insurance rather than a state roofing licence. Our record lists it as an RCAT Member. Confirm current general liability and workers compensation cover with the insurer before signing.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
No, they are separate. An RCAT Member is a company that pays dues to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately by a named individual through testing and continuing education. Our record for this company shows Member status only.
How long has the company been in business?
The company's own site says it has operated in North Texas since 1987, and names Doug Marchand as founder.
Where is it based and what does it cover?
It works from 3136 South Farm to Market Road 369 in Wichita Falls, in Wichita County, and lists Wichita Falls and surrounding North Texas communities as its service area.
What are its hours?
Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm. It is closed Saturday and Sunday.
Does the company do work other than roofing?
Yes. It lists siding installation, seamless gutters fabricated in house, low emissivity doors and windows, full remodels, and construction oversight and management alongside roof installation, repair, maintenance and coatings.
Does it hold any manufacturer certifications?
None were found. No GAF, Owens Corning or CertainTeed credential appeared for this company on the manufacturers' own contractor directories during this research, and the company's own site names no manufacturer programme. Ask directly and request the certificate if a certification is claimed to you.
Is hail a concern for roofs in Wichita Falls?
Yes. Wichita Falls sits in the North Texas hail corridor and takes regular spring hail and high wind. Hail damage often shows as bruising in the shingle mat under the granules rather than obvious holes, which is why a documented post storm inspection matters.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it here?
Class 4 is the top rating in the UL 2218 steel ball impact test, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for a qualifying roof. In a hail exposed market like Wichita Falls that discount can offset a good part of the extra material cost over the life of the roof. Ask for a Class 4 line item and confirm the discount with your carrier first.
What should I check before signing a roofing contract in Wichita Falls?
Texas has no statewide residential building code administration, so permitting and inspection are handled locally, by the City of Wichita Falls inside city limits and by county rules outside them. Ask who pulls the permit, get the scope in writing including decking, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and disposal, ask the insurer to send the certificate of insurance to you directly, and confirm whether the warranty is manufacturer backed or contractor backed.
