About

Luby Construction Group is a roofing and storm restoration contractor. The Better Business Bureau records a single limited liability company incorporated on 27 June 2018, with Brady Luby as managing member and Dylan Luby as a member. The company's base is in North Texas and it describes Midland as a second office opened to serve West Texas clients as the business grew. The West Texas commercial page covers TPO and EPDM membrane installation and repair, metal roofing systems, protective roof coatings and asphalt shingle work on multifamily properties, plus maintenance programs built around scheduled inspections, drainage system cleaning and emergency patching. Across the wider company the work also includes residential hail and wind damage repair, full roof replacement, roof inspections, gutters, garage door replacement, fencing and staining, siding and window repair, interior restoration and insurance claim support. Listed West Texas coverage runs to Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Stanton, Gardendale, Goldsmith, Penwell, Pleasant Farms and Garden City. The Permian Basin presence is real but thin on premises. The company is a Platinum Vendor Member of the Permian Basin Apartment Association, which publishes a Midland PO Box, a 432 area code number and a named local contact. There is no verified Midland street office: the address carried on this record is a single family house on a county road east of town, and the BBB Midland file shows only a zip code plus the same North Texas telephone number used on the Van Alstyne record. See the notes for the full duplicate registration verdict.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0485 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

A few months ago, we experienced the worst hail storm I have ever seen. It completely annihilated our street. Our home needed a new roof, new fence, new gutters, new windows, and new paint. Instead of simply restoring everything back to what it was, we decided to take the opportunity to completely refresh the exterior. The house felt dark and heavy before. The brown tones blended together and the curb appeal lacked contrast. Lucy Construction Group helped us transform it. We upgraded to a Level 4 impact-resistant roof, installed a board-on-board fence, added additional gutters for better drainage, replaced our windows, refreshed the paint, added shutters, and built out gables to give the home more architectural character. The change from the darker brown exterior to the brighter white palette completely elevated the look of our home. It feels cleaner, more modern, and far more custom. The added shutters and trim details gave it dimension it never had before. Trevor from Lucy Construction Group was amazing to work with. He was reliable, honest, hardworking, and detail oriented. He communicated clearly throughout the entire process and delivered quality work with his crew. In what could have been a stressful rebuild, he made everything smooth and straightforward. We could not be happier with the results and highly recommend Lucy Construction Group to anyone looking for high quality exterior work or a full transformation.

I had a fantastic experience with Luby Construction Group. Trevor in particular was wonderful to work with - he is responsive, consistent, honest, and was very patient in explaining the process for repairs. (This was my first time going through a significant storm as a home owner and my property sustained major damage.) Trevor was there every step of the way, providing thorough explanations and making the process much easier. At times when my insurance company became argumentative over aspects of my claim, Trevor advocated for me and my home. When I noticed additional storm-related damage after the fact, Trevor personally came out to take pictures for insurance, submitted supplemental claims, and provided solutions. Trevor and his team consistently went above and beyond with both quality and service, and all the repairs look incredible. He has truly been a pleasure to work with. I would recommend Luby Construction Group 100% to anyone looking to hire a contractor for home repairs or improvements.

We had a great experience with Luby Construction, specifically Trevor Mills. He arrived promptly at the stated time to our home. He was courteous and so friendly to our dogs, whom were quite excited to meet a new person. We needed an inspection of a couple of windows for our new buyer. He explained his assessment verbally, quickly remediated the issue, and gladly provided a written summary to give our buyers peace of mind. Thank you Trevor and Luby Construction!

We had a great experience with Luby Construction Group. Trevor arrived at our home on time and was professional throughout the entire visit. After completing the roof inspection and repair, he took the time to educate us on aspects of our roof we weren’t aware of, including mistakes made by the original builder. He also uploaded detailed photos to our customer profile so we could view them and keep a clear record for the future. We will definitely be using Luby Construction Group for any future roofing or construction needs. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked

Does Luby Construction Group have a physical office in Midland?
No dedicated commercial office could be verified. The company describes Midland as a second office, and it is a Platinum Vendor Member of the Permian Basin Apartment Association with a Midland PO Box, a local 432 number and a named local contact. However the street address on its Midland roofing registration is a single family house on a county road east of Midland, and its Midland BBB file shows only a zip code and the same North Texas telephone number used on its Van Alstyne record. Treat the Midland presence as a service territory rather than a separate branch with its own premises.
Why does this company appear twice in Texas roofing records?
Because one business registered two addresses. The Midland record and the Van Alstyne record share the same limited liability company, the same website, the same roofing credential number and the same telephone number. This is a duplicate registration of a single company, not two independent branch offices.
Is there a state roofing licence in Texas?
No. Texas does not license roofing contractors at state level, so no Texas roofer holds a state roofing licence. The meaningful checks are general liability and workers compensation insurance, credentials or membership with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, city or county registration where required, and third party records such as the Better Business Bureau. Luby Construction Group holds BBB accreditation with an A+ rating.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Membership means the company pays association dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own requirements. They are not the same and one does not imply the other. Ask which the contractor holds and check the RCAT directory for yourself.
Is the GAF certification verified?
Not independently. The company's own website names GAF among its certifications and product brands, but Luby Construction Group does not appear in GAF's own contractor directory for Midland or for its North Texas base. It is recorded here as stated by the company. If a manufacturer backed warranty is part of your decision, ask for the certification number and verify it on the manufacturer's own website before you sign.
What roof systems suit commercial buildings in the Permian Basin?
Most Midland and Odessa commercial buildings are low slope, so single ply membranes such as TPO and EPDM, metal systems and fluid applied coatings dominate. Coatings are often used to extend the life of an existing membrane rather than tear it off. Intense UV, big temperature swings and blowing dust are the local stressors, so ask about seam detailing, drainage and a scheduled cleaning programme for drains and scuppers.
Does West Texas get hail?
Yes. The Permian Basin sees fewer hail days than the Dallas to Fort Worth corridor but still gets damaging storms, often paired with high wind and blowing grit that scours granules from shingles and abrades coatings. After a storm, get a documented inspection with photographs even if there is no visible leak, because insurers usually apply a time limit for reporting a loss.
Are impact resistant Class 4 shingles worth it in Midland?
Class 4 is the highest rating in the UL 2218 impact test, and many Texas insurers give a premium credit for a Class 4 roof. The credit varies by carrier and is not automatic, so ask your insurer to confirm it in writing before you choose a product. Compare the extra material cost against the annual saving over the expected life of the roof.
Who handles permits and inspections for a Midland roof?
Texas has no statewide building code for this, so permitting and inspection are handled locally. The City of Midland and Midland County set their own requirements, and a property outside the city limits will follow a different process from one inside them. Confirm which jurisdiction your address falls under and put in writing who is pulling the permit and scheduling the inspection.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for a certificate of insurance issued directly by the insurer, covering general liability and workers compensation. Ask for a local physical address and confirm it is a real place of business. Ask who is pulling the permit. Ask for the workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranty as two separate written documents. And do not pay a deposit that is contingent on an insurance claim that has not yet been settled.
