About

James Kate Construction, LLC trades publicly as James Kate Roofing & Restoration, and has also used the names James Kate Roofing & Solar, James Kate Roofing and Construction and James Kate Roofing and Painting. Its website is dallasftworthroofer.com. The legal name, the brand and the domain all resolve to the same business at 2364 Highway 287 North in Mansfield, Tarrant County, reachable at (972) 400-4707. BBB records a business start date of February 2008 and lists Dustin Eatman as president. The company works across the Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex on residential and commercial roofing, and its BBB category list also covers interior and exterior painting, window replacement, metal roofing, roof coatings, emergency roofing, inspections and tile roofing. Published service areas include Arlington, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Grand Prairie, Burleson, Kennedale, Midlothian, Grapevine, Southlake, Keller, Lewisville, Irving, Denton and McKinney. GAF lists the company in its own residential contractor directory, and GAF's published 2026 President's Club three-star winners document names James Kate Roofing & Solar of Mansfield, Texas. President's Club standing is available only to GAF Master Elite contractors, which supports the company's Master Elite claim. BBB shows the business as Accredited since March 2025 with an A+ rating. Mansfield sits in North Texas hail country rather than the coast, so impact-resistant shingles and hail claim work matter here and WPI-8 windstorm rules do not.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0597 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We were contacted by Becky Rodriguez from James Kate roofing. She was professional, knowledgeable and was a pleasure to work with. The crew was great and was able to remove and replace our roof in one day. The clean up was thorough there was very little debris found. All contacts with any employee was a pleasant experience. Hopefully we won’t need a new roof anytime soon. But if we do I will call James Kate to do the job!

Ben Craig from James Kate roofing was awesome. He was very knowledgeable, and very understanding with all the questions I had. Ben negotiated with my insurance and got me a new roof. The crew he sent out was efficient and the project manager stayed the whole time to oversee the workers. I would recommend Ben with James Kate Roofing to anyone Give them a call if you need a roof. You won’t be disappointed.

I recently hired James Kate Roofing and Restoration for a roof replacement and was extremely pleased. I worked with Becky and Wesley and I was impressed with their work ethic and professionalism which extended to their whole crew. The roof looks great and everybody did a great job from start to finish, including taking down and reinstalling a solar system and clean-up. Throughout the whole process, Becky and Wesley were always available to answer any questions and address any concerns. If they scheduled a meeting, they would be there or call to let me know and reschedule. I never had to guess where we were in the process, which is very important to me. The roof looks really good, and I would highly recommend James Kate Roofing to anyone looking for reliable roofing services.

Frequently asked

Is James Kate Construction the same company as dallasftworthroofer.com?
Yes. James Kate Construction, LLC is the registered entity, James Kate Roofing & Restoration is the public brand, and dallasftworthroofer.com is its website. BBB lists James Kate Construction, LLC as an alternate name on the same Mansfield profile, and the RCAT directory entry for member 1546 gives dallasftworthroofer.com as the company website.
Where is the company based?
At 2364 Highway 287 North in Mansfield, Texas 76063, in Tarrant County, with the suite number recorded as 113 or 119 depending on the source. The phone number is (972) 400-4707.
Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing contractor license, so nobody in the trade holds one. Verify insurance, RCAT standing, manufacturer certification, BBB record and any city registration instead.
What does its RCAT Member status mean?
James Kate Construction, LLC is listed as an active RCAT Member, which means association membership. RCAT separately awards a Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) that is earned rather than purchased, and those are not the same thing. The RCAT entry does record a Commercial and Residential Roofing License number under the name J. Eatman.
Is the GAF Master Elite claim real?
GAF's own contractor directory carries a profile for the company, and GAF's published 2026 President's Club 3-Star winners list names James Kate Roofing & Solar of Mansfield, Texas. President's Club standing is only open to Master Elite contractors, so the claim is supported by GAF's own material.
What does Master Elite standing get a homeowner?
It makes the contractor eligible to offer GAF's stronger extended warranties, including the Golden Pledge Limited Warranty on qualifying systems. Ask which specific warranty is being offered on your job and get the term in writing, since eligibility does not mean every job automatically gets it.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Tarrant County?
North and Central Texas sit in what the industry calls Hail Alley, and Mansfield is squarely in it. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated to withstand steel-ball impact testing, and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what the discount is before choosing, since it varies by insurer.
Does WPI-8 apply to a roof in Mansfield?
No. WPI-8 windstorm certificates and TWIA coverage apply to the 14 first-tier Gulf Coast counties. Tarrant County is inland, so the relevant risk here is hail and straight-line wind, handled through ordinary property insurance rather than the coastal windstorm program.
Who issues the permit for a roof in Mansfield?
Texas has no statewide building code for roofing, so permitting and inspection are handled by the individual city. In Mansfield that means the City of Mansfield building department. Confirm with your contractor who pulls the permit and that it is pulled in the company's name, not yours.
What should a homeowner ask before signing after a hailstorm?
Ask for a current certificate of insurance, confirm the contractor is not asking you to waive or absorb your deductible since that is illegal in Texas, get the full scope and shingle line in writing, ask whether the crew is in-house or subcontracted, confirm the manufacturer warranty term and who registers it, and never sign a contingency agreement you have not read in full.
