About

Hi-Up Roofing is a residential and commercial roofing contractor based at 904 W Main St in Little River Academy, in Bell County, serving Temple, Belton and the wider Central Texas region. The company's own website leads on storm repairs, insurance claims and roof replacements, and states 22 years of experience in residential and commercial roofing. The service list is broader than roofing alone. Alongside re roofing, roof repair, flat and low slope work, metal roofing, tile roofing and commercial TPO, the company also handles fascia and soffits, gutters, siding, patio covers, deck repairs, painting and general construction. That makes it a useful single point of contact when a hail storm damages more than just the shingles, though it also means you should ask which crews are in house and which trades are subcontracted. Bell County sits in Central Texas hail country, so hail claims are a routine part of the work. Texas has no state roofing licence, so the checks that matter are a current certificate of insurance, a written scope of work, and clarity on which city or county is issuing the permit. Hi-Up Roofing is a dues paying Member of the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Great job done on the roof. Easy process from the start til end. Both before and after pictures. Our house looks brand new after the new roof. We will be sleeping easier now. The added ventilation was a nice extra touch. I highly recommend Hi-Up Roofing and Stephen L. for all your roofing needs. Easy to work with. The roofers who did the house were awesome hard workers and they did a phenomenal job. Give this company a call and see how they can make sure house look outstanding with a new roof. Our roof needed new decking along with shingles an we love what they did. 5 stars all the way around. Next up we will be having gutters installed by Hi-Up as well.

After the 2024 tornado, Michael at Hi-Up Roofing provided some of the best customer service we could have asked for. In the middle of a stressful situation, he was professional, responsive, and made the entire process incredibly easy. He took the time to explain everything clearly, helped navigate the insurance side, and kept communication consistent the whole way through. When a lot of companies were overwhelmed with storm damage jobs, Michael still made us feel like a priority. If you need a roofing company that’s honest, reliable, and truly takes care of their customers, I highly recommend Hi-Up Roofing. Michael went above and beyond, and we’re very grateful for his help.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. There is no state roofing licence in Texas, so no roofer here is licensed by the state to roof. What you can verify is insurance, association membership, and any registration your own city requires. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent to you directly by the insurer, not a photocopy from the salesperson.
What does it mean that Hi-Up Roofing is an RCAT Member?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas lists the company as a Member, meaning it pays association dues. RCAT also awards a separate Licensed Roofing Contractor credential that has to be earned through experience and testing. Member status and that credential are not the same thing and should not be treated as interchangeable.
What areas does Hi-Up Roofing serve?
The company's own site lists Temple, Belton, Salado, Troy, Academy, Harker Heights, Rogers, Waco, Hamilton, China Spring and Valley Mills, plus surrounding areas, working out of Little River-Academy in Bell County. If you sit just outside that list it is worth calling, since the stated coverage is Bell County and Central Texas generally.
Do they handle hail insurance claims?
Yes. Storm repairs and insurance claims are a stated focus on the company's homepage. Even so, the claim is yours, not the contractor's. Report the storm to your carrier yourself, keep your own photographs and dates, and never sign a document that hands your claim rights or your settlement cheque to a contractor.
Are impact resistant shingles worth it in Bell County?
Central Texas takes regular hail, and Class 4 impact resistant shingles are rated to survive a steel ball impact test that cracks standard shingles. Many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what the discount is before you pay the upgrade, because the payback depends on your own policy.
What roofing systems does the company install?
Its published services cover re roofing and repair, metal roofing, tile roofing, flat and low slope roofing, and commercial TPO. If you want a specific product or a manufacturer backed system warranty, ask which systems they are approved to install, because no manufacturer certification is stated on their website.
Can one contractor do the roof and the rest of the storm damage?
Hi-Up Roofing also lists gutters, fascia and soffit, siding, patio covers, deck repairs, painting and general construction, which covers most of what hail and wind damage on a house. Ask which of those trades are in house crews and which are subcontracted, and confirm that the warranty covers the work either way.
Do I need a permit for a roof replacement here?
Texas has no statewide building code adoption, so permitting and inspection are handled city by city and county by county. Little River-Academy, Temple, Belton and Harker Heights each set their own requirements. Ask the contractor which permit applies and who is pulling it, and get that in the written scope.
How long does a typical roof replacement take?
A straightforward residential re roof is commonly a one to three day job once materials are on site, with commercial flat systems taking longer. The bigger variable in Texas is the queue after a widespread hail event, when every roofer in the county is booked. Ask for a realistic start window in writing rather than a promise.
What should I check before signing a contract?
Get the certificate of insurance direct from the insurer, a written scope listing materials and underlayment by name, the total price and payment schedule, the workmanship warranty term, permit responsibility, and the cleanup and magnet sweep commitment. Be wary of any large deposit demanded before materials are delivered.
