Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0256 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Accent Roofing is the BEST local company to do business with! They offer exceptional service with high quality products. Kevin Banbury, the owner, worked directly with me. He was very patient helping me choose my beautiful new roof and flashing. His crew is outstanding! They installed our new two story roof in two days and they cleaned up beautifully!

Accent roofing was very professional and prompt in the replacing of my roof. The owner went above and beyond to get me the best bang for my money. The installation crew did a very quick and clean job of getting the old roof removed and the new roof installed. I love the color suggestion for the shingles, it goes great with my brick and the eaves. Thank you Kevin for all your assistance. You have a very satisfied customer with me. Angie Carson

Hailstorm on 3/3/26 busted a skylight, so I called Accent Roofing after reading many great reviews. Inspection determined I needed a new roof as well. Owner Kevin Banbury walked me thru the process with insurance, inspectors, and aesthetic choices. The roofers showed up 655a and pushed thru til 915p. New roof, flashings, solar vents, and Velux Skylights. Great work from everyone and I would highly recommend and use again for future needs! Thanx again Kevin

Accent Roofing of Amarillo holds the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT) Licensed Roofing Contractor (CRRL) credential, a separately earned designation that goes beyond basic dues paying RCAT membership.
Does Texas issue a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no statewide roofing license. Trust is instead based on verified insurance, RCAT status, and any city or county registration that applies locally.
How long has Accent Roofing of Amarillo been in business?
The company was founded in October 2001 by Kevin Banbury, giving it more than two decades of experience in the Amarillo market according to its own website and BBB profile.
What areas does Accent Roofing of Amarillo serve?
The company serves Amarillo and nearby Texas Panhandle communities including Canyon, Hereford, Pampa, Dumas, and Borger.
What roofing materials does Accent Roofing of Amarillo work with?
The company works with composition (asphalt) shingle, metal, flat, PVC, and rubber roofing systems.
Is hail damage a concern for roofs in the Amarillo area?
Yes. The Texas Panhandle sits within Hail Alley, one of the most hail prone regions in the country, which is why impact resistant Class 4 shingles and prompt storm damage inspections are worth asking about before a hailstorm hits.
Does Accent Roofing of Amarillo help with insurance claims?
Customer reviews referenced on the company's Better Business Bureau profile note that the company has helped homeowners navigate insurance claims after storm damage; ask them directly about their claims process for your project.

What should I ask a roofer before signing a contract?
Ask to see proof of current general liability and workers compensation insurance, confirm their RCAT status (Member vs. Licensed), get the scope of work and materials in writing, and check whether a local permit is required.
