About

Element Home Restoration is a roofing and damage restoration company based in North Richland Hills serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Per its BBB profile, the business started in 2016 and specializes in roof repair and installation while helping clients select materials and complete the installation process. BBB categorizes its work to include metal, commercial, flat and tile roofing along with insulation services. Its Thumbtack profile states the founders worked in DFW general contracting from 1987 before starting Element Home Restoration. Element Home Restoration has been a BBB Accredited Business since 2017 and holds an A+ rating. Texas has no state roofing license, so BBB standing, insurance verification and RCAT membership are the practical trust markers for a North Texas roofer working the region's frequent hail claims.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Best looking roof on the block! Kelly handled the job professionally and followed up with us and the insurance company before, during, and after completion. Very clean work area around the house during installation. Our neighbors have stopped by to complement the work. Highly recommend Element Home Restoration.

My ceiling collapsed right before Christmas, and left a big gaping hole in my living room. After contacting Element, they swiftly came out to do a damage assessment, and offered an estimate in the same day. They got me in ASAP, and not only restored the sheetrock and insulation, they color matched the popcorn paint (I'm a smoker). All of it was done in 1morning, and you can't hardly tell there was any damage at all! Big thanks to Kelly, Pedro, and Daniel for their work and professionalism. Would definitely recommend.

My insurance sent me a notice to fix my roof or the policy will be cancelled, so I went on Thumbtack to see about some quotes. Kelly was one of the first to respond and was extremely professional and easy to work with. I received a quote and was able to schedule the repair the very next morning. Not only did the crew do a fantastic job, the price was very reasonable and I knew exactly what all was being done. I highly recommend using them!! They will definitely be my go to from now on.

It was our first time to claim hail/wind damage through my insurance, and we decided to move forward with Element Home Restoration. Kelly showed up the next day we called for estimates. He gave us overview of what to expect and how we should move forward. Kelly always stood on our side in terms of what we need to focus on repairs and gave us plenty of options to compare. I am very satisfied with his work. I would recommend at least give it a call and start the conversation if you are still looking for the contractor for your roof and other more.

Frequently asked

Does Texas license roofing contractors?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, so no DFW roofer is 'state licensed'. Check proof of insurance, BBB standing and RCAT membership instead. Element Home Restoration holds an A+ BBB rating and has been accredited since 2017.
What does RCAT Member status mean for this company?
It means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas as a dues-paying member. That is distinct from RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, which requires testing and vetting. This listing reflects Member status.
Why do North Texas roofs need replacing so often?
Tarrant County sits in hail alley, and spring hailstorms are the leading cause of roof claims in the DFW metroplex. Even hail that does not cause leaks immediately can bruise shingles and shorten roof life, so post-storm inspections matter.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in DFW?
Often, yes. Class 4 shingles hold up better to hail, and many Texas insurers discount premiums for them. Ask any bidder to price standard and Class 4 options so you can compare payback.
Will my insurance cover hail damage to the roof?
Most Texas homeowners policies cover sudden hail and wind damage, subject to your deductible. Photograph damage, file promptly and have your roofer meet the adjuster. Note that paying or waiving a customer's deductible is illegal for contractors in Texas.
Do I need a permit to reroof in North Richland Hills?
Permitting in Texas is handled city by city. North Richland Hills and most DFW suburbs require permits or contractor registration for reroofing, so confirm with the city building department and agree in writing on who handles it.
Metal or shingle: which is better for a North Texas home?
Asphalt shingles cost less up front, while metal lasts longer and sheds hail and heat well but costs more. Element Home Restoration works with both, so ask for a side-by-side quote for your specific roof.
Does this company handle commercial or flat roofs?
Yes. Its BBB profile lists commercial and flat roofing among its services, alongside residential shingle, metal and tile work.
How can I avoid storm-chaser roofing scams after a hailstorm?
Prefer established local companies with a verifiable address, insurance certificate and BBB history. Be cautious with door-knockers who demand a signed 'inspection agreement', pressure you to sign on the spot, or offer to cover your deductible.
What should I get in writing before work starts?
A detailed scope with materials and brand, the total price and payment schedule, warranty terms for both workmanship and materials, proof of insurance sent from the insurer, and who is responsible for permits and cleanup.
