About

Tejas Roofing & Gutters is a family owned roofing and gutter contractor based at 108 W 3rd Avenue in Corsicana, the county seat of Navarro County, reachable on 903-872-7310. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started in September 2007, incorporated in December 2012, and accredited with an A plus rating since January 2009, with David Jones as president and Phyliss Jones as director. It also files under the alternate names Tejas Restoration & Roofing and Tejas Restoration & Roofing, Inc. The company works on both residential and commercial property and pairs roofing with seamless gutter work, which is the part that distinguishes it from most local competitors. BBB categorises it across roofing, gutters, metal roofing, flat roofing, tile roofing, waterproofing and water damage restoration, and the company has described its own service list as covering new roof installation, roof repair, roof replacement, gutter inspection, gutter repair, gutter replacement and new gutter installation. GAF's own contractor directory lists Tejas Roofing & Gutters as a Master Elite contractor, which is GAF's top residential tier and the level required to offer its Golden Pledge limited warranty. GAF's directory shows the company covering Navarro and Freestone counties and the Dallas metroplex. The company has also stated Owens Corning and CertainTeed credentials and a five year workmanship warranty on reroofing, and those are stated by the company rather than confirmed in the relevant manufacturer directories. Corsicana sits at the southern edge of North Texas hail country, roughly an hour south of Dallas, so hail claims and impact resistant shingles are the dominant local roofing conversation. Note that the company's former website, tejasroofingandgutters.com, no longer loads.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

The boss was informative, friendly, present (not just on the phone) and professional. We had to have the porch repaired as it was leaking and the added amount was appropriate. The workers were like a well-oiled machine...each knew their job and did it quickly and professionally. Jerry and I were very impressed customers! I would highly recommend this company for roofing projects! Mindy

Tejas Roofing helped repair a small leak that began after a rainstorm. David returned my call over immediately (which was on a weekend) and someone was out to assess and repair our roof within a few days. Great service, very friendly and quality work!

This is a small town business at its finest. They gracefully tolerated issues we had with our Insurance company (and who ended up denying our claim) and us changing our minds on how to handle it all. They did our entire job without asking for any payment up front, saved us a little money by using the older materials that were still usable (plywood) and managed some challenging issues with thoughtfulness and professionalism. I could not be happier with the work they have done. I highly recommend them to anyone having roofing issues in the Corsicana area.

Tejas Roofing was a great experience!!! Mark, the estimator arrived as scheduled and was very professional and personable. I was very relieved to be told all I needed was a couple of small repairs - and not an entire new roof!! What a wonderful surprise! The repair team arrived when Mark told me they would, made the repairs and left the property so clean you couldn't even tell anyone had been there. And, the best thing about the whole experience is: no more leaks!! I'd definitely use Tejas Roofing again and would highly recommend them to anyone needing roof repairs or a complete new roofing system. Tejas is fast, effecient and a quality operation!!

When we discovered we needed a new roof we called Tejas as they had done work at my husband's office. Mark from Tejas came out very quickly and did the estimate and easily worked with our insurance company. He made it very easy for us. The workers were so diligent and stayed late to get the job finished. They did a wonderful job and left the place as clean as they found it. Thank you Tejas for getting our roof done.

Frequently asked

Does Tejas Roofing & Gutters have a working website?
Not at present. Its former domain, tejasroofingandgutters.com, no longer serves a page: the address still resolves and port 80 redirects to the secure version, but the secure connection times out, so the site does not load for visitors. The best current contact route is the phone number 903-872-7310 or the company's BBB and social profiles.
Is this the same Tejas as the other Tejas roofing companies in Texas?
No. Several unrelated Texas firms use the Tejas name, including Tejas Roofing & Contracting in the Spring and Houston area and Tejas Roofworks + Restoration in Rockwall. This one is the Corsicana company in Navarro County on 903-872-7310, listed with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas under member id 1222.
How long has the company been trading?
The BBB records the business as started in September 2007 and incorporated in December 2012, and it has been BBB accredited since January 2009. The company has separately described itself as serving Corsicana and Navarro County since 2009 and has referred to roughly three decades of hands on roofing experience behind it.
What does GAF Master Elite actually mean?
It is GAF's top residential contractor tier. GAF states it is offered to a small minority of North American roofers, requires several years of trading history, and is renewed annually against insurance, licensing where applicable, reputation, credit and training standards. It is also the level that allows a contractor to offer GAF's Golden Pledge limited warranty. You can check any contractor's status free on GAF's own contractor locator.
Is Tejas Roofing & Gutters state licensed?
Texas has no state roofing licence, so no roofer in the state is. The company is a Roofing Contractors Association of Texas member and BBB accredited. Ask for a current certificate of insurance issued directly by the insurer, and check whether the City of Corsicana or Navarro County requires contractor registration for your specific job.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed?
They are two separate things. Membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing, experience and insurance requirements. Tejas Roofing & Gutters is recorded as a Member, joining in 2022.
How bad is hail in Corsicana?
Corsicana sits at the southern edge of the North and Central Texas hail belt, about an hour south of Dallas, and takes damaging hail in most spring seasons. Hail claims drive a large share of roof replacements locally, and impact resistant Class 4 shingles are worth pricing because many Texas insurers discount premiums for them.
Who handles permits and inspections for a roof in Corsicana?
Texas has no single statewide building code covering this, so the rules are set locally. A property inside Corsicana city limits and one in unincorporated Navarro County can face different permit and inspection requirements. Confirm in writing which authority applies and who is pulling the permit before any tear off begins.
Are gutters worth doing at the same time as the roof?
Usually yes, because the drip edge, fascia and gutter hangers all interact and replacing the roof often means the gutters come off anyway. Doing both under one contractor avoids one trade blaming the other for a leak at the eave. This company offers roofing and seamless gutter work in house.
What should I check before signing with any roofer after a hail storm?
Get a certificate of insurance directly from the insurer, not a copy from the contractor. Insist on a written scope naming the exact shingle, underlayment and ventilation. Get workmanship and manufacturer warranty terms separately in writing. Confirm who pulls the permit. Verify any manufacturer credential on the manufacturer's own contractor locator, and be wary of anyone asking you to sign a contingency agreement on the doorstep before you have read it.
