About
Target Roofing is a family run roofing contractor working the Austin County corridor west of Houston. Note that this is Austin County, a rural county whose seat is Bellville, and not the city of Austin, which sits in Travis County roughly a hundred miles further west. The RCAT record and the BBB file both list the company at PO Box 1742, Sealy, and its RCAT entry gives an establishment date of 1 August 2013. Owner Colby Brandt grew up in Sealy and holds RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential. The company works both sides of the trade. On houses it installs architectural and three-tab shingle roofs, does storm damage assessment for wind, hail, water and fire, coordinates insurance claims and fits gutters with custom bending. On commercial buildings it installs, repairs and overlays TPO, and it runs its own metal supply operation with custom roll forming for standing seam panels and flashing, which means it is fabricating rather than only ordering in. It also offers roof inspections, an online instant quote tool and new roof design for new construction. Recognition is local and specific. The Sealy News named it Best Roofing Company in Austin County in 2019 and again in 2023, and the Houston Area Roofing Contractors Association gave it a Best Commercial Roof award in 2022 and 2024. It is a member of HARCA, the Bellville Chamber of Commerce and RCAT. The company's published service list runs from Bellville, Sealy, Brenham, Burton, Round Top, Cat Spring, Columbus, La Grange and El Campo out to Katy and Greater Houston.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0475 or the company name.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Target Roofing was great to work with. Brigett was very patient, answered all of my questions, provided detailed explanations and had great follow through. The work crew was also very professional. They spent extra time making sure the job as done right and that the worksite was left clean. No nails laying around everywhere no messes left behind. I highly recommend!
Target Roofing was great choice for my new roof & gutter installation! I highly recommend, they are very fair priced, timely, and honest! Brigett was an absolute pleasure to work with! I reached out initially just getting quotes and pretty quickly knew these were the folks I was going to do business with. From the very beginning Brigett was very welcoming and easy to follow through the job. She did a great job explaining the products they offer, making recommendations, giving a good explanation of the process, and keeping me updated along the way throughout the job. The roof price was very reasonable among roofers in the area and they did a great job with installation & were timely! Above all else, they kept their word and stood by everything they committed to do within the deal despite a few minor set backs(weather, ect).
I call’em “Johnny On The Spot Roofing”! Had a serious leak on my metal Roof at the water heater vent pipe. Called them 2 days before a major rain storm was to arrive. They worked me in the next day before the storm. Didn’t just stop there, Megan called day after the storm to see if all was okay. As with all leaks, they are very elusive….water could be coming from anywhere on the roof, so still had a bit of a leak. Forecast was clear for the next couple weeks, so I told them just work me in when it fits their schedule before the next storm, which they did and kept me informed every step of the way. Second visit was charm, made it through 4” of rain. Their guys are super. Took pics of what they did and Roland showed me and explained the issues. Megan called me next day to be sure their guys had communicated the issues and what could potentially be needed if this fix didn’t work. I’m thinkin I dodge the bullet😀 and the price was more than reasonable, in fact I was surprised. So if you need a good roofer, these guys are the most dependable and customer service oriented you’ll find. But if you call them, probably want to look up Target Roofing…..don’t think they are going by Johnny on the Spot Roofing yet, but that’s okay!🥴
Bridgett with Target Roofing was very pleasant to deal with. She was very thorough in making sure what was needed to repair our leaks we were experiencing with our metal back porch roof and the main roof of our home. I was impressed by the two contractors that are related. They were very respectful and worked very efficiently together. I have discovered a recent leak from the recent heavy rain on the back porch but I am confident they will make it right. I highly recommend this company if you’re looking for professional people to deal with and quality work.
Pros: they helped navigate insurance claim appeal process and appraisal. I ended up paying out of pocket because my insurance policy was based on actual value. They provided quality product at a great price. Work was done over 2 days. Yard was maintained and protected. Cons: They can improve on communications. Communications were minimum and most emails and conversations had to go through one person. Post work response: I’ve submitted two requests to follow up on issues: nails in the yard and water heater exhaust pipe improperly installed. No one came out to check/fix until the date of this post. Both issues i corrected by myself.
