Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Such a great company. Right from the begging the owner came to our house with samples and a PowerPoint presentation on how they work and products they use. Within a half hour he gave me a bid price where other companies would not. They wanted to see how much money the insurance would pay first but not this company. I was very impressed They were prompt and do the work in one day. Clean up was great , the crew was professional and the owner stayed on the job the whole time leaving only to get plywood to fix rotted areas. Even the receptionist is prompt and helpful Everything came out great! Highly recommend them

After numerous quotes from other businesses it was clear Andrew from My Roof Pro was the obvious choice due to his extensive experience and attention to detail. While other reps seemed more focused on getting the job scheduled, Andrew was extremely thorough walking me through his process and outlining the specific details. Most importantly it was his top notch customer service that reinforced I made the right decision, from bringing over actual samples of shingles when I had a hard time picking out a color from the demo boards to explaining how he’s handled similar insurance claims in the past. I highly suggest you get other quotes before calling Andrew to see for yourself.

I dealt with Andrew, owner, directly when gathering bids from contractors. He was helpful, knowledgeable and willing to work with my insurance. The foreman and all workers on site were friendly and accommodating regarding my garden and other plants around the home. Office staff would also follow up to ensure I was satisfied throughout the repairs. And most importantly, they were the most reasonably priced quote received! Thank My Roof Pro!

MyRoofPro did an excellent job dealing with a difficult patio roof leak problem. Had an informative and friendly talk with Andrew, who then provided an estimate, after which the work was completed within just a few days. I will be sure and contact MyRoofPro for further work we will need done in the future. Also, they provided certificate of insurance and credentials which gave them credibility as a company.

Company rep showed up on time. Chawn was very knowledgeable about roofs. He did a pre bid inspection before going over any pricing. The contract was very easy to follow. Chain kept us in the loop at every step in person and by text. Once they started he went over everything that needed to be repaired before the repairs were started. They finished on time. We are very happy we decided to use My Roof Pro.

Frequently asked

Is Parish Construction & Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing licence, so no roofer in Texas holds one. What you can check instead is current general liability and workers compensation insurance, RCAT standing, BBB accreditation and any registration your city requires. This directory verifies insurance separately from the company's own claims.
Where is the company's Texas office?
The company lists 1250 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Suite 400, West Lake Hills, TX 78746, in Travis County, as its Texas address. The Austin phone number published on its site is 512-262-9877.
Is this an Austin company or a Louisiana company?
Both, in effect. Parish Built is headquartered in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and lists offices there and in Elmwood, Louisiana. Its Texas service areas are Austin and San Antonio, both run from the West Lake Hills address. If crew scheduling or a local site visit matters to you, ask who is based in Austin full time.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
They are not the same thing. RCAT Member means the company pays dues and belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through RCAT's own testing and requirements. This company is listed as a Member.
Does Austin get enough hail to justify impact-resistant shingles?
Central Texas sits on the southern edge of Hail Alley and takes damaging hail most spring seasons. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated against the UL 2218 steel ball test and many Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your carrier what the discount is before you decide, since it varies a lot.
What is a FORTIFIED roof?
FORTIFIED is a voluntary construction standard from the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety that goes beyond code on things like sealed roof decks, ring shank nails and edge attachment. It requires an independent evaluator and produces a designation certificate. Ask any contractor offering it who the evaluator is and what designation level the job will earn.
Who pulls the permit for a roof replacement in West Lake Hills or Austin?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permitting and inspection are handled city by city. West Lake Hills and the City of Austin each run their own process. Your contractor should pull the permit in their own name, not yours, and the permit number should appear on your paperwork.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the full scope in writing including tear off, decking replacement rate, underlayment, flashing and ventilation. Ask for a certificate of insurance sent directly from the insurer, confirm who pulls the permit, get the workmanship warranty term in writing separately from the manufacturer warranty, and never sign a contract that only becomes binding when an insurance claim is approved without reading the cancellation terms.
Does the company handle insurance claims?
Its Texas pages advertise roof repair and storm damage restoration and offer a free, no obligation inspection. In Texas a roofer may not act as your public adjuster or negotiate your claim on your behalf unless separately licensed for that, so treat the roofer as your contractor and the adjuster as a separate role.
What else does the company do besides roofing?
Its published service list includes general construction, restoration and mold remediation, waterproofing, soft washing, gutters and roof maintenance programs, on both residential and commercial properties.
