About
Layne Tech Roofing is the Abilene headquarters of a family run West Texas roofing company. The BBB profile for Layne Tech Roofing, LLC lists the business as starting on April 1, 2005 at 2601 S Danville Dr in Abilene, with J'Layne Partin as owner and James Partin and Lauren Dunlap as managers. The company describes itself as veteran owned and family run, serving all of West Texas, and its own marketing references a family construction lineage going back to 1946. That 1946 date is stated by the company and is not the same as the 2005 business start date BBB records. The Abilene office handles both residential and commercial work. Page titles across the company site cover roof replacement and hail damage, asphalt and composition shingles, tar and gravel, rolled roofing, flat and steep slope roofs, and TPO and modified bitumen commercial systems. The company markets its sales consultants as insurance claim specialists, which matters in a market where most roof replacements in Taylor County start with a hail claim rather than simple wear. On credentials, CertainTeed's own contractor directory lists Layne Tech Roofing LLC at the Abilene address as a ShingleMaster PRO since 2009 and a Low-Slope Roofing Master since 2016, so those two are verified at the manufacturer. The company is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating and has been accredited since February 18, 2008. No GAF or Owens Corning credential appeared for this company in either manufacturer's own contractor directory. This Abilene record (RCAT 644) and the Lubbock record (RCAT 645) are the same LLC operating two offices, not one office listed twice. See notes.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.
Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Did a great job replacing our roof after hail damage. We had already moved out and rented the house, and they came in and replaced the roof within two days. Great work, use these guys for sure.
Layne Tech Roofing is an all around great company. Their workmanship and the quality of their roofs is second to none. Our two year old roof was damaged in the hail storms this year and after they were finished replacing it, it looked better than it did before the storm! Not only do they do phenomenal work, paying extra close attention to all areas of a roof that could cause issues down the road but, they are super efficient. The crew was done in a day and a half, from unloading materials to cleaning up and driving away. I have never had a job site left so clean. The crew protected my lawn ( which a was a huge plus for me) and continuously cleaned up their mess. The secretary was also EXTREAMLY helpful during the entire insurance process, I knew I was in good hands with them. Thank you Layne Tech, all of you, The Risters appreciate you and the amazing job you did. If you need a rood repaired I HIGHLY recommend giving Layne Tech a call, you will not be disappointed.
Layne Tech Roofing did a great job of roof replacement, new skylights, fascia replacement and assisting with navigation of the insurance claim process! Their crew is skilled and very professional! A couple of days ago I called about a small piece of fascia that had blown loose! They sent someone out to help repair this immediately! You will always get five plus star service every time!
Layne Tech roofing has been phenomenal to work with! Everyone I have talked to has been extremely professional and kind. I have a weird schedule with being a nightshift worker, and they have taken that into account and worked with me. I called Monday, and by Tuesday they were out to look at our roof and give me an estimate, as well as take into account the upcoming weather and are planning on getting us taken care of before the rain this week! Update to add-not only were they extremely quick to come out and get repairs done on our roof prior to the forecasted rain/storms (within the week of me first calling), but they were affordable and did a phenomenal job!!
Top notch! Did a great job and came in under budget. Highly recommend! Blake Big Country Foundation Repair
