About

Houston Roofing & Construction, LLC works out of 11330 West Rd in northwest Houston (77065) and covers Harris County and the wider metro. The company's own site says it was founded in 2009 as a residential roofing company, and its Roofing Contractors Association of Texas directory entry lists the same establishment date of 1 October 2009. It has since added commercial and multi-family roofing alongside the residential work, and describes more than 20 years of commercial construction experience behind the leadership. Services span residential roof replacement, repair and free inspections, storm and hail damage repair, insurance claim handling, commercial low-slope and metal systems, multi-family roofing, solar shingles and fibre cement or wood siding replacement. Materials named on the site include GAF, Owens Corning, Malarkey and IKO shingle systems plus metal roofing. The site emphasises in-house project managers and manufacturer-neutral advice rather than pushing a single brand. On credentials this is one of the better documented files in the directory. GAF's own contractor directory lists Houston Roofing & Construction LLC as a GAF Master Elite roofer, and Owens Corning's contractor directory carries a profile for the company as well. BBB records it as accredited since 9 July 2021 with an A+ rating, and it appears in the RCAT directory. The company also advertises the GAF President's Club award, Malarkey Premium Certified status, CertainTeed credentials and FORTIFIED contractor status; those were not confirmed on the issuing bodies' own directories and are reported as company claims. Texas has no state roofing licence, so these voluntary credentials plus insurance certificates are what a homeowner can verify.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #01-0476 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We had Houston Roofing and Construction remove our old gutters, which had the Leaf Filter system on in which they removed to be reinstalled on the new gutters. They replaced several areas facia and soffit that needed replacing including trim wood around our fireplace chimney. They painted the complete exterior of our home, and proceeded to replace our entire roof complete with ridge vents and 4 air hawks. Once roof was completed all new gutters were installed with existing Leaf Filter system reinstalled. All work was done well and took only 6 days to complete. Dustin Stahmer was our project manager, and he did a great job of coordinating and communicating the project from the start. I would highly recommend this team for your next home project.

Since I know most of us struggle to find quality and reliable contractors, I want to share a great experience I had getting our roof and gutters replaced with Houston Roofing and Construction. Our project manager Jason responded immediately if we called/messaged with any questions and the team they had out doing the work protected our property and landscaping and cleaned up afterwards. We also had some interior and siding work done and that was great too. I like knowing that the company is local to Houston, they are licensed, and the work was guaranteed. I really recommend them for roof repairs, replacement, or any other exterior work you may need.

Houston Roofing and Construction was excellent to work with for replacing my roof. We purchase the house new 22 years ago and it was time to replace the roof. Jason Pritchard the Project manager was knowledgeable, professional and efficient in his explanations of the materials and project scope. He showed us areas of concern on our roof that we didn’t even know were there. The project was well staffed and completed in the time he projected. We are very pleased with this experience and highly recommend Houston Roofing and Construction.

My experience with Houston Roofing & Construction was a good one. Jason, the project manager, was very thorough in his initial assessment of my roof project. He was helpful in answering my questions and addressing my concerns. He was involved throughout the project and kept me informed of the progress. The communication with the business office as well as the project manager was very good. The crew appeared on site timely, and cleaned up well on completion. I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend their services. Thank you.

Frequently asked

Is Houston Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so no Texas roofer holds one. The company's site uses the phrase "RCAT Licensed", which refers to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas credential and not to any government licence. What a homeowner can verify is insurance, the RCAT directory entry, manufacturer certification and the BBB file.
Is the GAF Master Elite certification genuine?
Yes. GAF's own contractor directory lists Houston Roofing & Construction LLC as a GAF Master Elite roofer, which is GAF's factory-certified residential tier and is the level that unlocks the Golden Pledge warranty. The company also advertises the GAF President's Club award; that is an annual GAF award and was not independently confirmed here, so treat it as a company statement.
What is the difference between RCAT Member and RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
A member pays dues and signs the association's code of conduct. An RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor has separately earned RCAT's own credential (the CRRL, RRL and CRL designations) through its examination and requirements. Marketing often blends the two, so ask which one applies and check the company's RCAT directory entry.
How long has the company been in business?
Its own site says Houston Roofing & Construction was founded in 2009 as a residential roofing company, and its RCAT directory entry gives an establishment date of 1 October 2009. The BBB file separately records the LLC as started on 23 November 2010, which is most likely when the current legal entity was formed.
Is it BBB accredited?
Yes. BBB lists the company as accredited since 9 July 2021 with an A+ rating at 11330 West Rd, Houston, TX 77065. The company also maintains a dedicated page about its BBB rating on its own site.
Which parts of the Houston area does it cover?
Its service area page names Houston plus Baytown, Bellaire, Brookshire, Champions, Cinco Ranch, Conroe, Copperfield, Cypress, Hedwig Village, Humble, Hunters Creek Village, Jersey Village, Katy, Kingwood, Klein, League City, Magnolia, Pasadena, Pearland, Piney Point Village, River Oaks, Spring, Stafford, Sugar Land, The Heights, The Woodlands, Tomball, Upper Kirby and West University.
Does hail matter in Houston, or is it only a North Texas problem?
Hail is worst in the North and Central Texas corridor, but Harris County still gets damaging hail and severe wind from spring storms. Impact-resistant (Class 4, UL 2218) shingles are available here and many Texas carriers offer a premium credit for them. The credit varies by insurer, so confirm it with your carrier in writing before paying for the upgrade.
Who pulls the permit for a Houston roof replacement?
Texas has no statewide roofing permit process. Permitting and inspection are handled city by city and county by county, so the City of Houston, Katy, Pearland and unincorporated Harris County can each work differently. Confirm the requirement with the relevant building department and put in the contract which party pulls the permit.
How does the company handle insurance claims?
It runs a dedicated roof insurance claims service including storm damage documentation and support through the claim. Ask who meets the adjuster, how supplements are handled, and what happens if the claim is partially approved or denied. Texas law bars a contractor from paying or rebating your insurance deductible, so any offer to cover it is a red flag regardless of who makes it.
What should a homeowner ask before signing?
Ask for insurer-issued certificates of general liability and workers compensation cover, a written scope naming the shingle line, underlayment, flashing, drip edge and ventilation, the specific manufacturer warranty being registered and the separate workmanship warranty term, whether the crew is in house or subcontracted, and a payment schedule tied to milestones rather than a large deposit.
