About

Gladiator Roofing & Construction is a family and woman owned roofing and exteriors company that opened in 2019, founded after the owners had a bad experience with a dishonest contractor. The team cites more than 25 years of professional trade experience and runs three Texas offices, in Bonham, Wylie, and Hondo. The company handles residential roof replacement, repairs, and inspections along with gutters, siding, windows, and remodeling, plus commercial roofing systems including PVC membrane, TPO, metal, and elastomeric coatings. It advertises service across the DFW metroplex, the Texoma region, and the Texas Hill Country, and backs new roof installations with a 10 year workmanship warranty. BBB gives the company an A+ rating (it is not BBB accredited) and lists co-owners William and Jennifer Bigby, with a business start date of February 2019. The company displays NTRCA, NRCA, and RCAT logos on its site along with local chamber of commerce memberships in Murphy, Hondo, and Bonham.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Outstanding customer service from Jesse Topasha from start to finish, he handled everything and walked me through every step with the insurance claim. Had my roof and gutters replaced even with a full color change on both. Has top notch crews that do really good work and very clean. Honestly couldn’t tell a roofing crew were even there other than new roof. Highly recommend Gladiator for any of your construction needs.

I had an outstanding experience working with Ross and the team at Gladiator Construction and Roofing. From the very beginning, Ross was professional, knowledgeable, and extremely responsive throughout the entire process. What really stood out was his expertise with the insurance claim process. He took the time to explain everything clearly, kept me updated every step of the way, and made what could have been a stressful situation, feel smooth and manageable. It was obvious he truly cares about his customers and takes pride in doing things the right way. The workmanship and attention to detail were top notch, and the crew did an excellent job with both the installation and cleanup. Ross followed through on everything he promised and made sure the project was completed with excellence from start to finish. If you are looking for a roofing company that operates with integrity, professionalism, and genuine care for their customers, I highly recommend Ross and Gladiator Construction and Roofing.

Frequently asked

Is Gladiator Roofing & Construction licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license, so no roofing company can truthfully claim to be state licensed. Instead, look for RCAT affiliation, verifiable insurance, and registration in cities that require it. Gladiator's listing here reflects RCAT membership.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
RCAT membership means a company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential is a separate, voluntarily earned designation that requires testing and vetting. The two are not the same thing, so ask which one a company holds.
Where does Gladiator Roofing & Construction operate?
The company runs offices in Bonham, Wylie, and Hondo and advertises service across the DFW metroplex, the Texoma region, and the Texas Hill Country.
What does Gladiator offer besides roofing?
Its site lists gutters, siding, windows, and remodeling for homes, plus commercial roofing and commercial remodeling for businesses.
What warranty does Gladiator offer on a new roof?
The company advertises a 10 year workmanship warranty on new roof installations. Manufacturer material warranties are separate, so ask for both in writing before work starts.
How do I confirm a roofing company's insurance before work starts?
Ask for a certificate of insurance for both general liability and workers compensation, sent directly from the insurance agent rather than handed over by the salesperson, and check the policy dates and coverage amounts.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in North Texas?
It depends on your city. Texas has no statewide residential building code enforcement, so permitting and inspections are handled city by city. Ask which permits your city requires and who is responsible for pulling them.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in this area?
Often yes. North Texas, including the DFW and Texoma areas Gladiator serves, sits in hail-prone territory, and Class 4 shingles resist hail better. Many Texas insurers also offer premium discounts for them, so check with your insurer first.
How can I avoid storm-chaser scams after a hail storm?
Be cautious with out-of-town crews that go door to door after storms, demand large deposits, or offer to cover your deductible, which is illegal in Texas. Prefer an established company with a physical Texas address and verifiable insurance.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Get the scope of work, materials, price, timeline, and warranties in writing, confirm insurance certificates, ask who pulls any city permit, and avoid paying the full amount up front.
