About

CSI Renovations & Roofing is a Tarrant County roofing contractor based at 230 N Main St in Keller, working across Fort Worth, Keller, Arlington, Irving and Dallas. The Better Business Bureau records the business start date as August 2010 and lists Christopher S. Irving as manager. The company describes itself as family owned and markets heavily to the commercial and multi-family side of the Fort Worth market while still taking residential re-roofs and repairs. The commercial book covers roof installation and replacement, single ply TPO systems, roof coatings, warehouse and storage building roofs, and multi-family properties. Residential work includes new roof installation, replacement, repair, inspections and storm damage assessment, using asphalt shingles, metal roofing, snap lock metal panels, stone coated metal shingles and tile. The company also handles the peripheral items that leak, including roof vents, escape hatches, skylights, fascia board, roof decking and gutters, and it offers home remodeling and general renovation work. On credentials, CSI stands out on two verifiable points. It is listed as an Owens Corning Roofing Preferred Contractor on Owens Corning's own contractor directory, and it holds RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, with Chris Irving carrying the CRRL designation for both commercial and residential. That is a meaningfully different thing from plain RCAT membership. The company has also been BBB Accredited since April 2013 with an A+ rating. Texas issues no state roofing license, so those association and manufacturer credentials plus current insurance are the real trust signals here.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0319 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

I had such a great experience with this roofing company. From the start, they were super easy to talk to and actually took the time to explain everything without making me feel confused or pressured. The crew showed up when they said they would, worked hard, and got everything done quicker than I expected. My roof looks amazing now, and you can tell they really care about doing a good job. They also cleaned everything up really well before leaving, which I appreciated more than I expected. Overall, just a really smooth, stress-free experience. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone needing roof work.

From start to finish, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They took the time to explain the process, answered all my questions, and delivered exactly what they promised. The quality of the work was excellent, and everything was completed on time and with great attention to detail. It’s clear they take pride in their craftsmanship and customer service. If you’re looking for a reliable, trustworthy company for renovations or roofing, CSI Renovations & Roofing is the way to go.

CSI Renovations & Roofing are an amazing company! They just put two new roofs on our Pentecostal Church of God buildings in Bedford, Texas. They sharpened their pencil and gave us an amazing price. Their work and crews were top notch! They were fast, efficient, and easy to work with. From the bidding process to the scheduling of equipment and materials, nothing was left to chance. They are also the best at troubleshooting and problem solving! We had abandoned communication equipment on our roof. They found the responsible parties and assisted them in removing the junk. Chris and his team are the best. We give them our highest recommendation!

From the first interaction through to the end, we were impressed and pleased with the service and experience we received from everyone at CSI Renovations & Roofing. During the initial inspection, they thoroughly explained the process and introduced everyone whom we may come in contact with (I was hooked - who does this?). Throughout the entire process, it didn't matter whom we spoke to, we always felt at ease (no high pressure sales tactics - AT ALL), and that we were dealing with honest people and a company with integrity. Today we had our roof installed. The crew was early, friendly and fast... AND they did a thorough job of cleaning up (even took buckets around to get small pieces of trash). Our roof replacement was actually a pleasant experience. I feel at ease as this storm season approaches (I mean.. at ease about having a good roof :) ). I highly recommend hiring CSI for your roofing needs.

I needed media console assembled. They were very quick in response. Finished the work the very next day. And they’ve charged me a very reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Frequently asked

Is CSI Renovations & Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing license and has no state roofing board, so no Texas roofer holds one. What CSI does hold is RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential, an industry credential earned through the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas rather than a government agency. Chris Irving carries the CRRL designation covering both commercial and residential. Verify insurance separately and check whether your city requires contractor registration.
What does the RCAT CRRL designation actually mean?
RCAT runs two separate things. Plain membership means a company pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor program is earned by an individual through testing and ongoing continuing education, and comes in three flavors: RRL for residential, CRL for commercial, and CRRL for both. CSI's principal holds CRRL. It is an industry credential, not a state license, but it is a step beyond simple membership.
What does Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status mean?
Preferred is a tier in the Owens Corning Roofing Contractor Network. Contractors apply, are vetted on insurance and reputation, and in return can offer certain extended Owens Corning system warranties. CSI Renovations & Roofing appears on Owens Corning's own contractor directory at the Preferred level. It is a manufacturer program, so it says something about installation training and warranty access, not about pricing or scheduling.
How should I verify insurance before hiring any Tarrant County roofer?
Ask for a certificate of insurance emailed directly from the agency, showing general liability with limits and, if there are employees, workers' compensation. Texas does not require most private employers to carry workers' compensation, so ask the question plainly rather than assuming. Confirm the dates cover your project and ask to be named as a certificate holder.
Are Class 4 impact resistant shingles worth it in Keller and Fort Worth?
Tarrant County sits in the North Texas hail belt, and Class 4 is the top result in the UL 2218 impact test. Most major Texas carriers offer a premium discount for a Class 4 roof. Get the specific discount figure from your own insurer first, then compare it against the upgrade cost over the expected life of the roof. Class 4 reduces the odds of functional hail damage but does not eliminate them and does not change your deductible.
Do I need a permit for a re-roof in Keller or Fort Worth?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement for residential work, so it is set locally. Both the City of Keller and the City of Fort Worth run their own permitting and inspection processes, and requirements for roofing permits differ between them and from surrounding Tarrant County jurisdictions. Ask in writing who pulls the permit and who pays, and keep the final inspection record for resale.
Does WPI-8 windstorm certification apply to a Keller roof?
No. WPI-8 is the Texas Department of Insurance windstorm certificate tied to TWIA coverage in the fourteen first tier Gulf Coast counties plus part of Harris County. Tarrant County is inland and none of that applies. Your storm exposure here is hail and straight line wind.
How does a Texas hail claim usually run?
You report the damage to your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues an estimate broken into actual cash value now and recoverable depreciation released after the work is completed and invoiced. Your wind and hail deductible is often a percentage of the dwelling value rather than a flat sum, which surprises people. A contractor may meet the adjuster on site and document damage, but the contract must stand on its own price, not on whatever the insurer pays.
Can a roofer waive or absorb my deductible?
No. In Texas it is a criminal offense for a contractor to pay, rebate, waive or absorb an insurance deductible, and Insurance Code section 707.003 requires roofing contracts on insurance funded work to state clearly that the property owner must pay the deductible. Any roofer who offers to make your deductible disappear is telling you something important about how they operate.
Does CSI handle commercial and multi-family buildings, not just houses?
Yes. The company markets commercial roof installation and replacement, TPO single ply systems, roof coatings, warehouse and storage building roofs and multi-family properties alongside its residential work, and lists manufacturer affiliations on the commercial side including Duro-Last, Elevate, FiberTite and Mule-Hide. For a large flat roof, ask which specific system is being proposed and what manufacturer warranty comes with it.
