Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

John Miranda and the team at Anvil Roofers were excellent and made our roof replacement so painless. Extremely responsive, clear communication, and highly professional. Gave us a quick quote, worked with our schedules (odd hours due to healthcare), and pricing was very competitive. I know absolutely nothing about roofs but John made things easy to understand, and never once made us feel upsold. The actual work was scheduled promptly and done in a single day. Lastly, they did everything they said they would on the time tables they promised. We couldn’t be happier that we went with their services and would recommend them without hesitation.

We chose Anvil Roofing amongst a few other companies shorty after hurricane storm Beryl blew multiple shingles off our roof. Caleb, the owner, was incredibly responsive and his team installed a quality product. Very impressed with this group and will certainly be using them again.

They say that most reviews are left by people who have had either poor service or great service. This review is definitely the latter. I had been the market for a roof replacement for quite awhile. I had spoken to and had been given estimates from at least 5 or 6 roofing companies prior to contacting Anvil. One company was really good, but the price was outrageous, another company who’s price was reasonable, but had trouble answering basic questions, and yet another company spent most of their time trying to upsell on things I didn’t want or need. I had become exhausted. I then visited Anvil Roofers website and saw where they gave free no obligation quotes. All I needed to do was to enter my address and a satellite view of my home popped up and I received a quote along with several roof packages that would fit my budget. That was refreshing and it helped me decide, up front about what I wanted since there was a detailed list of what was included in each package. I then received an email from Caleb who informed me that I would soon be contacted by Sam. Sam and I spoke for a while prior to actually receiving a visit from him. During his initial visit, we spoke at length about everything in the package I had chosen. Intake, exhaust, ridge vent, solar exhaust, ice and water barrier etc. Sam did actual calculations and ratios in determining what would work best in reducing the heat in my attic. No other company did this. That impressed me. To take the time to figure out what would work best for exhausting heat from my attic and not try to upsell me, left me with a positive impression. Sam pointed out that since he wasn’t commissioned, there was no need to upsell anyone on a package that didn’t benefit them. On the day of the roof installation, Sam and his team were prompt, on time and began working right away. They covered all of my plants, the covered my pool and outside AC unit. They worked fast and I was given several updates throughout the day from Sam regarding their progress which also included pictures. Upon finishing, they did a thorough job cleaning up which also included using a rolling magnet device which was used to find nails. I could not be happier with the way my roof turned out. I think Sam and his team went above and beyond my expectations . My initial concern about Anvil only being in business for about 7 or 8 years was quickly alleviated. Their competitive pricing, professionalism, communication, knowledge and attention to detail left me so impressed that I am writing this review just 2 hours after they left. I will say this, when you spend the kind of money that a new roof cost, you expect companies to earn your business. Anvil did this. If you are getting multiple quotes, I would suggest giving them an opportunity to also earn your business. I don’t think you will be disappointed. They also specialize in Malarkey roof installs. Malarkey shingles are considered the best on the market. If you don’t believe me, just ask ChatGPT.

Got my new roof this week, using Anvil Roofers. They did an awesome job! A large crew showed up and completed my new roof in a little over a day. Caleb gave me a detailed quote and explained every step of the entire process, start to finish. Great work and Windstorm Certificates to boot. Thanks.
