About

TWT Exteriors & Roofing is a family owned residential and commercial contractor working out of the Lakeway and Bee Cave side of the Austin metro. Its RCAT record carries a Lakeway address at 211 Sumalt Gap Way, while the company publishes a mailing suite at 12600 Hill Country Blvd, Ste R-275 PMB 191, Bee Cave. Keith D. Wright is listed as president on both the company website and its BBB profile, with Candice Wright named as co-owner and CFO. The Better Business Bureau records the business as started in 2006 and incorporated in 2012, and lists The Wright Touch, TWT Exteriors and KS Wright Enterprises LLC as alternate business names. The company does not state anywhere on its own site what the letters TWT stand for, so this listing does not guess. Roofing is one part of a broader exterior offering. The company handles roof repair, replacement and inspection in composition shingle, metal and TPO, plus storm damage work and multifamily roofing, and it also builds patio covers, screen rooms, outdoor kitchens, decks, casitas and freestanding garages, and does siding, windows, doors and exterior painting. Its stated pitch is that one contractor can carry a whole exterior project from start to finish. On verified credentials, TWT appears on Owens Corning's own contractor directory as an Owens Corning Roofing Preferred Contractor, registered to the Lakeway street address and the same phone number that appears on its RCAT record. It has been a BBB Accredited Business since 2012 and holds an A+ rating on its Austin BBB profile. The company also displays a Mule-Hide Products badge on its site, which we were not able to confirm at Mule-Hide's own contractor directory, so treat that one as stated by the company.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this listing yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

NO B.S.! I wanted to build an outdoor living space and I tried the FaceBook ad with Allied Outdoor Solutions. Allied quoted me 344k 😨 I was skeptical on trying another contractor. Keith gave me a way better price for what I wanted and I decided to change gears and have him upgrade my roof! TWT was simple to work with, streamlined the process and started the same week! We’re working at my pace and doing projects in phases! Just look at these awesome results! One week Later hit by a massive Hail storm baseball size breaking windows and denting our new roof and gutters! Keith didn’t hesitate to take care of the process and getting the repair started! I can’t recommend a better company, TWT is a company you can trust.

TWT built us an outdoor living space - gabled covered patio addition (attached to roof), with flagstone, railings and electrical (4 recessed lights and fan). They were amazing! I highly recommend. Keith was super responsive, and from our perspective, the project came in on time and on-budget -minus a concrete surprise we found after demolition started. Keith and his team were honest, cared about what we wanted and did everything to bring our vision to life. Their roofing experience was a big plus for us as the patio cover was being attached to the roof. They showed up when they said they would, had a plan and a sequence as to how the work would be done, and we were kept abreast every step of the way. Everything happened the way they said it would - such a pleasure to work with! I would work with them again.

We recently worked with Keith at TWT Exteriors for a major project that included a full roof replacement, a new carport, and a new fence, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, Keith delivered exceptional quality workmanship—every detail was done right, and the finished product truly exceeded our expectations. What really set Keith apart, though, was his outstanding communication throughout the entire process. He kept us informed at every step, answered all of our questions clearly, and made what could have been a stressful project feel smooth and easy. He also went above and beyond by helping us navigate the insurance claim process, which was incredibly valuable and saved us a ton of time and stress. If you’re looking for someone who combines high-quality work with professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine care for his customers, I highly recommend Keith and TWT Exteriors.

Keith and team at TWT did an excellent job on our backyard renovation. The project was completed on time and for the exact amount quoted. Keith was very responsive and easy to get ahold of when needed, and his work crew was very professional. The addition integrates very well with our existing roof line and looks like it was always part of the house. We'll be enjoying our new deck and screened patio for many years to come. Highly recommended!

I contacted Keith/TWT Exteriors for the replacement of roof and to build a porch roof extension. I was price sensitive and after a bit of negotiation agreed on a price. The work is of a very good standard and I was very pleased with my end product. My scope changed and therefore so did my outlay. Not the cheapest but good quality product. Any items I was not happy with Keith was flexible and adaptable at making changes throughout the construction. Very good communication. Some delays between build stages/sub contractors which I think was because they had other jobs on, I was not on a deadline so did not bother me. I’d use them again. Very please with end product thanks Keith, Sean and team.

Frequently asked

Does Texas issue a state roofing licence?
No. Texas has no statewide roofing contractor licence, so no roofer in the state can honestly claim to be state licensed for roofing. What you can check instead is proof of general liability and workers compensation insurance, the company's standing with a trade body such as RCAT, its BBB record, and whether the city it is working in requires a local contractor registration or permit.
What is the difference between RCAT membership and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas has two separate things. Plain membership means the company joined and pays dues. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (RRL, CRL or CRRL) is earned separately through testing and continuing education and is not automatic with membership. They are not equivalent, so always read which one a listing actually shows.
Is TWT Exteriors & Roofing accredited by the Better Business Bureau?
Yes. Its BBB profile with BBB serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin shows the company as a BBB Accredited Business since 2012 with an A+ rating, filed under the name TWT Exteriors & Roofing in Bee Cave.
What does TWT stand for?
The company does not say. Nothing on twtexteriors.com spells out the letters, so this listing does not invent an expansion. For what it is worth, the BBB profile lists The Wright Touch, TWT Exteriors and KS Wright Enterprises LLC as alternate business names for the same company, and the president is Keith D. Wright.
Is TWT actually certified by a shingle manufacturer?
Owens Corning's own contractor directory lists TWT Exteriors & Roofing as an Owens Corning Roofing Preferred Contractor at the Lakeway address and the phone number on its RCAT record, which is the manufacturer confirming it rather than the contractor claiming it. The Mule-Hide badge shown on the company's website was not confirmed at Mule-Hide's own directory during this research.
What areas does TWT Exteriors & Roofing cover?
The company describes its market as Austin and surrounding areas, and works from the Lakeway and Bee Cave side of Travis County. Its BBB profile also lists an Austin address and a San Antonio address, and the company's own about page refers to team members managing projects in San Antonio.
Does the company do work other than roofing?
Yes, and that is most of what it advertises. Alongside roof repair, replacement, inspection and storm damage work, it builds patio covers, decks, pergolas, screen rooms, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, cabanas, casitas and freestanding garages, and it does siding, windows, doors and exterior painting. It is also an authorised dealer for MagnaTrack motorised screens.
Are impact resistant shingles worth it in the Austin area?
Central Texas sits on the southern edge of Texas hail country and Travis County takes damaging hail most springs. Class 4 impact resistant shingles are rated to survive a steel ball impact test that cracks standard shingles, and most Texas home insurers offer a premium discount for them. Ask your own carrier for the discount amount in writing before you choose, because it varies by insurer and by roof.
Do I need a permit to replace my roof around Lakeway, Bee Cave or Austin?
Probably, but it depends on the jurisdiction. Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so roofing permit and inspection rules are set city by city and county by county. Lakeway, Bee Cave, Austin and unincorporated Travis County each handle it differently. Ask your contractor to confirm what the specific jurisdiction requires and to pull any permit in its own name.
What should a Texas homeowner ask before signing a roofing contract?
Ask for current certificates of general liability and workers compensation insurance sent directly from the insurer, not a photocopy. Get the full scope in writing including underlayment, decking replacement rate and ventilation. Ask who communicates with your insurance carrier and whether that is contractually your responsibility. Separate the manufacturer material warranty from the contractor workmanship warranty and get both terms in writing. Finally, be cautious about any large deposit before materials are delivered.
