About

Roof Experts is a residential and commercial roofing contractor headquartered at 601 North 1st Street in Garland, Dallas County, with a second Texas office at 17005 Joe Barbee Drive in Pflugerville serving the Austin market. The Better Business Bureau records the company as starting in January 2022, and it has since opened offices outside Texas in Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma and Georgia. The work covers roof inspections, repair, replacement and new installation on both steep slope and low slope roofs, plus metal roofing, TPO and EPDM commercial systems, skylight repair and installation, HVAC roof flashing, gutter repair and installation, and ongoing roof maintenance programs. The company also markets drone assisted roof inspection. Roof Experts states that its installers hold certifications from GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed, and it advertises manufacturer warranties alongside its own workmanship coverage. We did not find a matching profile for this Garland company in GAF's or Owens Corning's own contractor directories, so those manufacturer certifications should be treated as stated by the company. The Better Business Bureau gives Roof Experts an A+ rating and records that the business has not sought BBB accreditation.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

City/county registration Not checked for GarlandTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

We noticed water staining near our chimney during heavy rain, so we had the flashing inspected and repaired. The roofing team identified worn sections and replaced the damaged flashing materials carefully. The repair took about half a day. Compared to before, we no longer worry every time it rains heavily. The crew also checked surrounding shingles to make sure no additional issues were developing nearby. It’s a smaller roofing repair compared to full replacement, but it solved the problem completely and helped prevent what could have become a much larger issue later on.

One of their drivers almost hit my dog and me today. We were stepping out on to the crosswalk(that has clear signage to yield to pedestrians as it’s a trail crossing) and she never even slowed down. She was looking at her phone. She was driving too fast to get a plate but this happened around 5:50pm in Carrollton. I called to file a complaint, but they have an extremely creepy and weird AI bot with a European accent taking phone calls. If it doesn’t understand what you’re asking, it tells you to hang up and call again. My roof needs to be replaced soon and I know what company I will not be using between the reckless employee and lack of human support.

Frequently asked

Is Roof Experts licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas does not issue a state roofing contractor licence, so no Garland roofer holds one. The checks that matter are current general liability and workers compensation insurance, status with the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (RCAT), and any city registration. Roof Experts is recorded in our data as an RCAT Member.
What does RCAT Member mean, and is it the same as RCAT Licensed?
No. RCAT Member is a paid association membership. The RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through examination and continuing education, and is a stronger signal. Roof Experts is listed as a Member.
Are the GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed certifications confirmed?
The company states on its own website that its installers are certified by GAF, Owens Corning and CertainTeed. We did not find a listing for this Garland company in GAF's or Owens Corning's own contractor directories, so ask to see the current certificates before relying on any enhanced manufacturer warranty that depends on certified installer status.
How new is the company?
The Better Business Bureau records Roof Experts as incorporated in January 2022 and operating locally from May 2022, which makes it a young company that has grown quickly across several states. The company describes over 100 years of combined industry experience across its team, which is a different claim from company age.
Does Roof Experts do commercial roofing?
Yes. Alongside residential shingle work it handles commercial low slope systems including TPO and EPDM, metal roofing, roof maintenance programs and HVAC roof flashing, which are typical needs for warehouses, retail units and office buildings across Dallas County.
Garland is in Hail Alley. What should I do after a hailstorm?
Photograph what you can safely see from the ground, note the storm date, and get a dated professional inspection with close up photographs of impact bruising on shingles and dents on soft metals such as vents and flashing. Report to your insurer promptly, and keep the inspection report independent of any contract to do the work.
Should I fit Class 4 impact resistant shingles in Dallas County?
It is worth pricing. Class 4 impact rated shingles are tested against a two inch steel ball drop and most Texas insurers offer a premium discount for them. In a hail prone county like Dallas the discount plus reduced claim frequency often pays back the upgrade over the life of the roof.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Garland?
Texas has no statewide building code enforcement, so permits are set by each city. The City of Garland generally requires a permit for roof replacement, and the contractor normally pulls it. Confirm in writing who is applying and get the permit number before the tear off begins.
What should I ask before signing with any DFW roofer?
Ask for insurance certificates sent directly from the insurer, a written scope naming the shingle line, underlayment and ventilation work, who pulls the permit, the workmanship warranty length and what voids it, whether crews are employed or subcontracted, and a payment schedule tied to milestones rather than a large upfront deposit.
How do I contact Roof Experts?
The Dallas office number is (469) 936-7663 at 601 North 1st Street, Garland, TX 75040, and the Austin office is (512) 900-1054 at 17005 Joe Barbee Drive, Suite 400, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Both list hours of Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, and the general email is info@roofexperts.com.
