About

Palafox Construction Group is a locally and family owned roofing and general construction company serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The Better Business Bureau records the business as having started in November 2006, and the company's own commercial roofing page says it has been repairing, maintaining and installing roofs for commercial buildings in the Keller area since 2005. Its BBB-listed address is 133 Sports Pkwy, Suite E in Keller (Tarrant County), and its website lists a second office at 137 Marshall Creek Rd., Suite 200 in Roanoke. The work splits across residential and commercial roofing plus a broader construction menu. Roofing services include maintenance, new construction, new installation, repairs, re-roofs and tear-offs, with multi-family roofing handled on the commercial side. Beyond the roof, the company lists remodeling, interior and exterior painting, concrete, fencing, and patios and arbors, along with help on water damage claims. It advertises free estimates and free inspections, financing options, and 24 hour availability for emergency roofing and construction work. On materials, the residential roofing page names Firestone, GAF, Owens Corning and TAMKO products, and the commercial page states the company is certified by TAMKO, GAF and Firestone with limited lifetime manufacturer warranties behind those installations. Those manufacturer certifications are stated by the company and could not be confirmed on the manufacturers' own contractor directories during this review. The BBB accreditation is independently confirmed: Palafox has been BBB Accredited since July 2012 and currently carries an A+ rating. North Texas is hail country, so homeowners in Keller, Roanoke and the surrounding suburbs should ask any contractor how it handles hail claims and whether impact-resistant (Class 4) shingles make sense for their roof.

Insurance & credential verification

Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

Confirm this licence yourself at web.rcat.net/rcat/search — search #03-0368 or the company name.

Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Repaired several spots in wood fence plus 3 gates, painted to match, repaired iron fence and painted long run of black iron fence. Workmen were diligent, clean, worked hard and did excellent work. Could not have been more pleased with value and customer service. Want it done right for a reasonable price, call Palafox.

I have worked with Palafox Construction for six years, starting when we bought our home knowing it needed significant updates. From day one, the owner, David Palafox has been exceptional. He is hands-on, detail-oriented, and truly stands behind his work. If anything needs attention, he takes care of it without hesitation. His team is professional, reliable, and respectful of our home. They communicate clearly, show up when they say they will, and consistently deliver high-quality results. Most recently, we completed a full primary suite remodel, and the process was seamless from start to finish. David truly listened to my vision and brought it to life beautifully. The end result exceeded our expectations. What really sets David apart is the trust we’ve built over the years. I feel completely confident in his integrity and commitment to doing things the right way. After multiple projects together, I can honestly say we wouldn’t use anyone else. Highly recommend.

David was recommended to us by our awesome realtor. We’ve been wanting to replace our roof for quite a while but never found the right contractor. David and his team WAY exceeded our expectations! He is such a cool guy that it was a very pleasant experience! I keep calling him to ask him for more help related to our move. David is an expert negotiator with insurance. I can’t believe how much work he had to do to get the payout from our insurance company. Don’t hesitate and call him right away. You won’t regret it!

I have trusted Palafox Construction Group with my roofing projects for more than 15 years. They replaced the roof on my primary residence in 2010, my rental property in 2015, and most recently completed another roof replacement on my rental property this year. The fact that I continue to return to Palafox for major projects speaks for itself. David and the entire Palafox team have always been honest, professional, and dependable. In an industry where trust is everything, Palafox has consistently earned my confidence through quality workmanship, fair dealing, and standing behind their work. I would also like to recognize Jose Coronado, the project manager on my most recent project. Jose did an outstanding job from start to finish. He maintained constant communication throughout the process, worked directly with the insurance company on my behalf, and kept me informed every step of the way. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and commitment to customer service made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. If you are looking for a roofing contractor you can truly trust, I highly recommend Palafox Construction Group. They have taken care of my properties for many years, and I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Frequently asked

Does Texas require a state roofing license?
No. Texas has no state roofing license, so anyone can call themselves a roofer here. That makes independent checks matter more: confirm current general liability and workers compensation insurance directly with the carrier, look at the company's Better Business Bureau record, check whether it holds a credential from the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, and confirm any city or county registration your project needs.
How do I check whether Palafox Construction Group is insured?
Ask for a certificate of insurance that names you or your property, then call the insurance agent listed on it and confirm the general liability and workers compensation policies are active on the day your work starts. Do not accept a photocopy or a screenshot as proof. This is the single most important check a Texas homeowner can make, because there is no state licence backstop.
What is the difference between an RCAT Member and an RCAT Licensed Roofing Contractor?
The Roofing Contractors Association of Texas offers two different things. Membership means the company pays dues and belongs to the association. The Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned separately through testing and continuing education by an individual at the company. They are not equivalent, so ask which one a contractor actually holds and for which person.
Are Class 4 impact-resistant shingles worth it in Keller and Tarrant County?
North Texas sits in what the industry calls Hail Alley, and Keller, Southlake, Roanoke and the surrounding suburbs take repeated hail. Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are rated to survive a two inch steel ball drop and often qualify for a homeowners insurance premium discount in Texas. Ask your carrier what discount it offers before you choose, because that discount can offset a chunk of the upgrade cost over the life of the roof.
What roofing brands does Palafox Construction Group install?
The company's residential roofing page names Firestone, GAF, Owens Corning and TAMKO products, and its commercial page says it is certified by TAMKO, GAF and Firestone with limited lifetime manufacturer warranties. Those certifications are stated by the company. If a specific manufacturer warranty matters to you, ask the company to show its current certification number and confirm it with the manufacturer.
How does a hail damage insurance claim usually work in North Texas?
A roofer inspects and documents the damage, you file with your carrier, an adjuster inspects, and the carrier issues a scope and estimate. A reputable contractor will meet the adjuster on site and point out damage that was missed. In Texas it is illegal for a contractor to waive, absorb or rebate your deductible, so treat any offer to do so as a serious red flag.
Do I need a permit to replace a roof in Keller or Roanoke?
Texas has no statewide building code, so permitting and inspection are set city by city and county by county. Keller, Roanoke, Southlake and Fort Worth each run their own permit process for reroofs. Your contractor should pull the permit under its own name and schedule the inspection. Ask for the permit number before work starts.
What should I ask before signing a roofing contract in Texas?
Ask for the full scope in writing (tear off versus overlay, decking replacement pricing, underlayment, ventilation, flashing and drip edge), the shingle line and colour, the manufacturer and workmanship warranty terms in writing, the permit plan, proof of insurance, the payment schedule, and who supervises the crew on site. Never pay the full amount up front.
How long does a roof replacement take on a typical DFW home?
Most single family asphalt shingle replacements in the Dallas-Fort Worth area finish in one to two days once materials are delivered, weather permitting. Larger, steeper or multi-layer roofs, metal systems and homes needing significant decking replacement take longer. Scheduling after a widespread hail event is usually the slowest part, not the installation itself.
Does Palafox Construction Group handle work other than roofing?
Yes. Alongside residential and commercial roofing the company lists remodeling, interior and exterior painting, concrete, fencing, and patios and arbors, plus assistance with water damage claims. That can be useful when storm damage extends past the roof to fences, siding or interior ceilings, but ask for separate line item pricing so you can see what each trade actually costs.
