About
Cypress Roofing is a Kerrville based roofing contractor serving the Texas Hill Country from 1686 Junction Hwy. The Better Business Bureau records the business start date as June 2018 and lists Albert R. Martinez as managing member, with Albert Martinez Roofing & Construction LLC as the registered alternate name. The company's tagline is Roofs Done Right and it works within roughly a 100 mile radius of Kerrville, naming Fredericksburg, Boerne, Comfort, Bandera, Junction and Leakey among its markets.
The company covers residential and commercial roof replacement, repair and maintenance, free roof inspections, insurance claim assistance and seamless gutter installation. It fabricates metal roofing in house, and the residential pages list architectural, dimensional and Class 4 impact resistant shingles, CertainTeed Presidential Shake, Galvalume and colored standing seam metal, exposed fastener panel systems and copper. Manufacturers named across the site include GAF, IKO, CertainTeed and Owens Corning.
Two of the manufacturer credentials check out at the source. Cypress Roofing appears on GAF's own contractor directory as a Master Elite contractor, the tier that carries GAF's Golden Pledge limited warranty, and on Owens Corning's own directory as a Preferred Contractor. It has been BBB Accredited since October 2020 with an A+ rating, and appears in the RCAT directory as a Member, which is association membership rather than RCAT's separately earned Licensed Roofing Contractor credential. Texas issues no state roofing license, so those verifiable credentials plus current insurance are what a Hill Country homeowner should actually check.

Insurance & credential verification
Texas does not issue a state roofing license, so we verify companies the way homeowners actually can: confirming insurance coverage, checking RCAT (Roofing Contractors Association of Texas) status, and checking city or county registration where the local jurisdiction requires one. Every credential below links to the actual issuing organization's own public lookup — don't just take our checkmark for it. Always ask for a current certificate of insurance before signing any contract.

InsuranceNot verified by us (we hold no certificate for this company — ask them for a current COI before signing)
City/county registration
Not checked for KerrvilleTexas has no state roofing licence, and city rules differ: some require contractor registration, some run a voluntary registry, some neither. Ask this company and your local permit office.
Status Current in the RCAT directory (no published licence number for this record)
RCAT member ID456 (member since 2019)
Licence boardRCAT, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas (Texas issues no state roofing licence; RCAT runs the licensing programme)
Confirm this yourself: ask the company for their certificate of insurance (COI). Note that RCAT's Licensed Roofing Contractor credential (CRRL, RRL or CRL) is earned and held by a named individual at a company, not by the business itself, which is why we name that person above where we know it; Texas issues no company roofing license at all. RCAT and NTRCA status can be checked in their own public directories (RCAT, NTRCA) — use the "Licensed"/"Accredited" filter to see more than plain membership. GAF's contractor verification tool and Owens Corning's Texas locator confirm those tiers directly; CertainTeed doesn't offer a comparable self-serve lookup, so ask to see that certificate in person. BBB accreditation and rating are on bbb.org. Houston's own published registered-roofer list is years out of date, so it isn't cited here at all — confirm registration by contacting the city directly. Corpus Christi's STAR program has its own online contractor registry — for any other city or county registration claim, confirm directly with that jurisdiction's permit office.

Cypress Roofing is top notch A++ in providing excellent customer care and outstanding work. I had Roof and Gutter damage due to Hail storm in May 2025.
Albert Martinez and his team provided quality service from start to finish. I upgraded my roof from composition to standing seam metal roof and new gutters installed, in addition to a couple other Hail damage repairs.
I'm so very happy with the work performed and highly recommend Cypress Roofing to all! Most reliable and reputable roofing company I've dealt with over the years and their work done is outstanding. Albert Martinez truly cares about his customers and provides quality work!
Thank you Albert and the Cypress Roofing Team for a pleasant experience!

Anthony Felps could not have made this process of getting a new roof any easier. Every time we had a question or called him his response was concise & immediate. The crew he sent over was great polite & hardworking. Getting a new roof makes a big mess but when they left our yard was cleaner than before they started, Highly recommend Cypress Roofing & especially Anthony ! Thanks so much, Kirk & Cathi McIver

Anthony from Cypress Roofing is amazing! He slowly and carefully walked my 92-year-old mom through the process of getting her roof replaced. Anthony answered all of her questions, addressed all of her concerns, and was very respectful and friendly throughout the entire process. We picked out the shingles, got them ordered and when they came in, it was done in less than a day. The crews picked up everything and left the yard and the roof in immaculate condition,. I HIGHLY recommend them if you need your roof replaced. This is the company you need to use. Locally owned, locally hired crews. 100% professionalism.

Cypress Roofing did an absolutely fantastic job on our creekside pavilion. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing. Customer service was great. They kept in communication on the job and left the place clean when done. The pavilion looks better than it ever has! They are so easy to work with and do incredible work. Choose Cypress for your next project!

We contacted several roofers to quote a full roof replacement due to hail damage. Anthony with Cypress Roofing was the only one who followed through with the whole quote process and earned our business. He got on the roof and recognized other issues along with the hail damage. Their ability to extrude the metal on site is a real plus for both parties in that there is little waste and no wait time for materials. Can't say enough good about their professionalism and neatness. It was fun to watch their crew do this work as it appeared to be second nature for them. Cypress replaced an old 3 tab shingle roof with a 24 gauge Galvalume roof on a small ranch home in one day.

Frequently asked
Is Cypress Roofing licensed by the State of Texas?
Texas has no state roofing license and no state licensing board for roofers, so the question does not apply the way it would in a licensing state. Cypress Roofing describes itself as licensed, bonded and insured, which in practice means local registration where required plus insurance. What you can independently verify is its GAF Master Elite listing, its Owens Corning Preferred listing, its BBB accreditation and its RCAT membership. Always ask for the certificate of insurance separately.
What is GAF Master Elite and why does it matter?
Master Elite is the top tier of GAF's residential contractor program. GAF states that only a small share of roofing contractors qualify, and applicants must show proper insurance, a track record and ongoing training. The practical benefit is warranty access: only Master Elite contractors can offer GAF's Golden Pledge limited warranty, which covers workmanship as well as materials. Cypress Roofing is listed at that level on GAF's own contractor directory.
Is Cypress Roofing the same as the roofing companies named Cypress near Houston?
No. Cypress is also a town in Harris County northwest of Houston, and several unrelated companies use Cypress in their name. This listing is the Kerrville business at 1686 Junction Hwy, Kerrville, TX 78028, phone (830) 955-5075, operating in Kerr County and the surrounding Hill Country. If you are searching online, check the address and phone before you call.
What does RCAT Member mean here?
It means the company belongs to the Roofing Contractors Association of Texas. RCAT separately runs a Licensed Roofing Contractor program (RRL, CRL, CRRL) that individuals earn through testing and continuing education. Cypress Roofing is listed as a Member, which is the dues based membership rather than that earned credential. Neither one is a government license, because Texas does not issue one.
How do I verify a Hill Country roofer's insurance?
Request a certificate of insurance sent directly by the insurance agency rather than forwarded by the contractor. It should list general liability with limits and, where the company has employees, workers' compensation. Texas does not require most private employers to carry workers' compensation, so ask the question directly and get the answer in writing. Confirm the dates cover your project window.
Does Kerr County get enough hail to justify Class 4 shingles?
The Hill Country sits on the southern edge of Texas hail country and takes damaging hail and severe thunderstorm wind most spring seasons. Class 4 is the top result in the UL 2218 impact test. Cypress Roofing lists Class 4 impact resistant shingles among its options. Ask your own insurer what premium credit a Class 4 roof earns on your policy, then weigh it against the upgrade cost.
Is metal roofing a good choice for a Hill Country property?
It is common on ranch and rural Hill Country buildings for longevity, fire resistance and shedding performance on long low slope runs. Cypress Roofing fabricates metal in house and lists Galvalume and colored standing seam, exposed fastener panels and copper. Standing seam hides its fasteners and generally lasts longer than an exposed fastener panel, which trades some lifespan for lower cost. Ask which one is being quoted and what gauge.
Do I need a permit to reroof in Kerrville or unincorporated Kerr County?
Texas has no statewide residential code enforcement, so this is local. Inside Kerrville city limits, confirm requirements with the city's building and development services office. Unincorporated Kerr County operates differently from the city. Get it in writing in the contract who pulls the permit, who pays the fee and who meets the inspector.
Does WPI-8 or TWIA windstorm certification apply in Kerr County?
No. WPI-8 is a Texas Department of Insurance windstorm inspection certificate tied to Texas Windstorm Insurance Association coverage in the fourteen first tier Gulf Coast counties plus part of Harris County. Kerr County is well inland and none of it applies. Hail and severe thunderstorm wind are the relevant hazards here.
What should be in the contract before I sign?
The full legal entity name (this company's registered alternate name is Albert Martinez Roofing & Construction LLC), a firm total price rather than a placeholder tied to insurance proceeds, the exact shingle or metal product and underlayment being installed, the manufacturer warranty being registered and by whom, the workmanship warranty term, the permit responsibility and the payment schedule. Texas law also requires roofing contracts on insurance funded work to state that you must pay your own deductible, and it is a criminal offense for a contractor to waive or absorb it.
